Topic: How should we allocate medical resources?

Overview:

Medical resources (both the time of medical staff, and money for equipment & treatments) are unfortunately not limitless. This session is intended to discuss what ethical dilemmas are raised in making decisions on how we should allocate these resources.

How should we make decisions where there are competing claims for treatment?

Are some lives more worth saving than others?

Does emotion in decision making mean the available resources are used less effectively than they could be?
