How to Validate your E-mail address

This page describes how you validate your e-mail address. To try and reduce attacks by spammers we now require people to provide an e-mail address which we then validate before they can edit the site. New users will have to provide an e-mail address when they register.

The process of validating your e-mail address happens the first time you try and edit a page when you click on the edit tab of one of the pages. Instead of being taken to the ediitng page you will be redirected to the Email Authentication Required page

Click on the link to be taken to the Confirm E-mail Address page

Click the "Mail me a confirmation code" button, and the system will send an e-mail to the address in your profile.

The mesage is sent out immediately by the system so you should receive it within 5 to 10 minutes. The e-mail contains a link, which when clicked on confirms your e-mail address as valid and then allows you to edit the wiki. Once you have completed the process you don't need to do it again unless you change your e-mail address in your profile.

Once you've clciked the link and your e-mail has been confirmed the page will change to show that.
