Professor Guy ClaxtonGuy has been Visiting Professor of the Learning Sciences at the University of Bristol Graduate School of Education since 1993, where he was involved in setting up the first taught doctoral programme in education in the UK. Before working at Bristol, he was one of the Founding Faculty of the innovative Schumacher College at Dartington in Devon, which offers residential courses to people from all over the world concerned about global environmental, political, economic and spiritual issues. Guy is originator of the educational Building Learning Power programme: helping young people become better real-life learners; and author of the bestselling 'Hare Brain, Tortoise Mind: Why Intelligence Increases When You Think Less' and 'The Wayward Mind: An Intimate History of the Unconscious'. He is also a consultant, lecturer and speaker on creativity, intuition and education. |
