Hi from Bee
« on: October 10, 2006, 03:05:29 AM »
I'm Barbara (Bee) Dieu, EFL (English as a Foreign Language) secondary school teacher at the Franco Brazilian school in SP, Brazil. Even though my school has not been very much interested in encouraging the use of ICTs, I have been actively networking  internationally and have involved my students in collaboration online since 1997. Lately I have been working with blogs, podcasts and other social tools.
Here is my class blog: http://lycee.wordpress.com
and here is my personal one:http://beewebhead.net
I also love digital photography http://www.flickr.com/photos/bee
I have 3 sons and 2 dogs(Giant Schnauzers):http://www.flickr.com/photos/bee/tags/dogs/
and speak 4 languages: Polish, Portuguese, English and French. :)

I am from England and I am home educated.  Do you have home education in Brazil?
You can look at my page in wikiworks to find out more.user:michael

Oh wow, Michael. How interesting!  I suppose that in Brazil there must be lots of people who are home-schooled but I personally do not know any.You are the first person I have met and I find this very exciting.

I can fully understand your aversion to worksheets and preference for experiments. When I am trying to learn about a new programme on the computer, for instance, I'd rather click on the buttons and try to figure out how it works by trial and error or have someone show it to me than read the manual. Are you like this as well?
What kind of experiments did you engage in?
Can you describe the one that impressed you most or that you learnt best from?
What are your interests?
