I have put up two jump platforms. Did it without permission. But with permission at the same time.

They only use up 4 prims each. Big but small. Honest.

Lots of people 'doing the right thing' and asking for permission to build.

Following on from the building meeting last Wednesday I think we need some better mechanism for decisions to be made about what is approved and what is not, because:
  • the decision should be being made by the SParkers (Schome Park community) not by me or the staff
  • we are getting to the point where we are going to have to prioritise which things get approved - cos we can't approve everything (cos of the prim limit)

So my suggestion is that we (meaning the SParkers) need to:
  • Carry on posting their ideas for projects in here (so people know about them and staff are less likely to delete them 'by mistake'
  • Sort out the approval process - which might be a key role of the 'governing body' that Trixxiee, Wintermute and Topper are coordinating a meeting to organise

How does this way forward sound to you?

Planning board!
« Reply #17 on: March 24, 2007, 10:11:19 AM »
I'd be really happy to see a "planning board" that makes up the decisions made up entirely of SParkers from now on in. We could have a support staff member sitting in as "advisory member" if that was felt necessary but I am not sure if we need to have this... I can only see the SParkers making reasonable decisions.

I think getting people to post up their requests in the forum should still be part of the process though: it's a better tool than the wiki for posting a message out to the largest number of people.

I think this also falls under the issue of self-governance.  I believe a meeting will be coming up shortly to see how this can evolve and be put into practice.

Yep, there will be a meeting soon. I'll add this issue to the agenda, which should be up on the forum soon - hopefully later today.

Thanks for flagging it up!

I've had an idea that would take a while to do and would be interesting (plus I have an idea of how to do it) - make a Chess board which you can play on.
What do you think of this idea?

I've been wondering for a while whether a chess board would be welcome on Schome Park.  Sounds like a good idea to me.

Okay. I'll go and try to set (at least) the objects for it up now.

A chess board would be great.
'I am the gadfly'-or at least, I'd like to be

Question everything, including this.

I'd like to make a big tower block where people can do whatever they want in - it would go in the sandbox, just wanted permission to do it!

We need the building group set up very soon ... cos they need to make these decisions ... (I think there is a meeting tonight (Sunday at 7pm) but its not listed on the Schome Park Events page so I can't be certain)
