Whenever I go on there's usually at least 3 people on, but it's always days before anyone ever posts again

I'm about to spend four weeks intensively writing my thesis - so you won't hear much from me until December....

:( I agree, there isn't much to debate about anymore, were not as active as we once was, and i think its because the closing of the island was to long, we all got on with our normal lives, now it is open, there is not much fun in it all, its always so cold, no body there.

Well I reckon we should all start/continue the 'writing up' that we all said we'd do.

How about organising some times, maybe 2 or 3 hours a week where most of us go in and work together? Then if people want to, they can go in whenever they want and do some on their own.

How about it?

Kit.

I think this is a really great suggestion.
One of the things that we agreed at a recent meeting about the Schome Initiative was that we needed to get our act together and write up a report on Phases 2 and 3 - I did start to do this a while back - but need to push forward on it again - and would love your help.  :)

PeterT, do you have any guidelines for this?
What sorts of areas would you like to see covered in a write up of the Time Explorers, for example?
If we have some general headings, people might be able to divide the work between them, as they did for the presentation in London.

Yeah, if Peter could give us some "areas" he would like to be written up...

I'll help with the reports.

Yeah, if Peter could give us some "areas" he would like to be written up...

I'll help with the reports.

What I need most is critical case studies describing what people did - giving as much detail as possible - and pulling out 'lessons learnt' about what worked and what didn't work.

These can then be used to illustrate the kinds of things we got up to.

I'm particularly interested in things that didn't work as well as we had hoped - cos we may learn more from them than from things that worked really well.

I'm also interested in the issues are around participation - who was involved - who was excluded and how/why - so alternative perspectives on things are useful.

Anything that gets at what folk learnt - and how this could have been made even more effective would be useful as part of the case studies too. The more we can provide evidence (which can range from self-reporting (eg I think I became better at x) to peer evaluation (eg When soandso started they were x but as these extracts/examples illustrate they became much more y as they worked on project z) to analysis of behaviours observed in Schome Park, the wiki or the forum.

I'm not exactly sure who I'm talking to!
However someone must understand better than Rowan how or if it's possible for JPSkater to come on the island again.

I'm willing to meet up and discuss/participate in writing up.
