Hello Everone,
My name is Craig Struble.  I am an Assistive Technology consultant for a state agency in Connecticut.  I learned about Schome from an article in Technology and Learning (March 2008).  I'm excited to learn more about the project and its learning opportunities for students, especially for students with special needs who struggle to access the current school curriculum.

Hi Craig, welcome to Schome. There's a bit of info on the wiki (http://schome.open.ac.uk/wikiworks/index.php/Schome) that explains what schome is. :)

Hi Craig, Welcome to Schome. Are you involved in education in virtual worlds?

No, I'm not currently involved in education in virtual worlds...but I am very interested in learning more about them.  Currently, I train teachers in assistive technology and also participant in policy groups within the Department of Education.

Hi Criag - welcome to the schommunity. Feel free to dive in and ask questions etc. The current phase of the Schome Park Programme (http://schome.open.ac.uk/wikiworks/index.php/Schome_Park) runs till the end of May - we will then be closing down to reflect upon what we have learnt and to think about what the next step should be for us - I have some thoughts about creating the Schome Virtual Environment - a kind of on-line environment which encapsulates some of the best aspects of Schome merged in with some of the strategies used in on-line games like WoW to help structure the activity and thus pull people into deeper levels of engagement (but with out the violence needless to say).
