I quit. The levels of idiocy and hostility are far higher than is acceptable.

  • If a decision is made, don't count it as invalid and delay things by a month just to make yourself happy. Don't be rude to people who disagree with you.
  • Type in English. Not txtspk. Not 1337. Don't use "u" as short for "you." "Cos" is incredibly annoying. Capitalise the letter "I." Text messages are limited to 160 characters. SL lines are limited to 1024 characters, and you don't have to pay to use several. The time you save typing is countered by the additional time required to understand the nonsense you produced. (This applies to many of the people here.)
  • Use a spellcheck in the forum. It's not hard.
  • If you don't like Second Life, stop using it.

For a group of supposedly intelligent people, I am highly unimpressed. Your sim is significantly less interesting than the main TG. Most of the buildings, excluding Woop's, are badly made, and the majority could have been built by me - and I am incapable of building. I have seen nothing of any worth done yet whatsoever, although I'll excuse that, given that it's the holiday. Except for repeated mass panics and excessive child protection paranoia. I can't include an external website, under my full control, unless I duplicate it, remove some features, and change its base principles, as a result of "child protection" scares. Anyone intelligent is not going to have any issues with child protection online - use of the close button, and (in SL) the ctrl-shift-H key combination will get you out of anything.

You give the outside world a bad impression, and upon joining you maintain it. Bonus points if I come back tomorrow and this isn't here any more. (Because harsh criticism is censored by moderators, at least on the forum.)

Thank you for your honest and open opinions Katharine. We will try to take them on board and improve what we're doing with these valuable thoughts in mind. I have, however, edited your post as I don't think that it is polite or constructive to single out individuals publicly for criticism. Best regards and good luck with your future projects --Mgaved (Mark Sparker in SPii) 11:14, 3 August 2007 (BST)
Well, that was predictable. Actually I've more or less entirely just been driven off by marsbar9's insistence that everything should go his way, while disregarding and/or being rude to everyone else involved. Names are still in the revision history, by the way. - Katharine Schomer 11:43, 3 August 2007 (BST)
Ouch - I think it is a shame if one person can have this impact - clearly something I'm going investigate cos if it makes you feel like this then it inevitably will be impacting on others too - not good - and you were making such a valuable contribution - I very much hope we can continue to develop the profiles ... I tend to overreact. And I would ignore it, but it's impossible to ignore people who continuously IM you and force answers out of you, especially given the constraints of a single sim and tiny community. I'd be happy to return, provided that there aren't people abusing the system to prevent anything happening, and bullying people into agreeing with them. (I made a similarly angry post on the SL forums yesterday as well, which merited a lengthy IM session with Blue Linden about all sorts of mostly unrelated things. :p). I maintain that holding a significant drive to get people to join, followed by abandoning it and going on holiday, was a bad idea. - Katharine Schomer 16:28, 3 August 2007 (BST)
