Introduction

What is the Schome Park Programme?

The Schome Park Programme (SPP) consists of a series of projects all of which are focused on helping us to develop our ideas about what schome might be like. The SPP has been through a number of phases each of which is summarised below.

Phase 1

Phase 1 ran from January 07 to mid May 07. It included 150 students from NAGTY.
See the Schome Park Phase 1 bliki and the examples on the right for an insight into the sorts of things we got up to. The Phase 1 Report provides an evaluation and suggests issues to be addressed in Phase 2.

Phase 2

Phase 2 ran from early June 07 to mid December 07. It included some of the original NAGTY students plus new students who were more representative of the student population as a whole. During Phase 2 the first group of students from the USA joined the project. The Schome Park Phase 2 bliki and the examples on the right of this page give an insight into the sorts of things we got up to. We are working on the Phase 2 and 3 Report at the moment. Check the Publications page for relevant journal articles, book chapters and conference papers.

Phase 3

Phase 3 ran from early January 08 to the end of May 2008. It involved students from the South East Grid for Learning as well as another school in the USA. The focus in this phase was on the extent to which the Schome Park ethos could integrate with formal educational settings. The Schome Park Phase 3 bliki and the examples on the right of this page give an insight into the sorts of things we got up to. Check the Publications page for relevant journal articles, book chapters and conference papers.

'Case studies'

This is a set of links to accounts by individuals about aspects of the Schome Park Programme - these provide particular perspectives rather than 'an agreed community view' - these were written by folk who are still involved with SPP (which officially ended in May 08) and thus provide a limited perspective - they fail to capture information from the vast majority of folk who contributed to SPP...

Teachers' TV has done two programmes which feature the Schome Park Programme:
