The WikiWorks playground

From The SchomEmunity Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

This is an area where you can play around and see what WikiWorks can do - and how to do it. Would be good to keep these first couple of lines - so other folk know what this page/area is for - but other than that I wouldn't post anything important here if I were you cos it probably won't stay in tact for long!

Happy experimenting.

you can't paste images in - you have to upload them (using the upload file option in the toolbox menu on the left of the window) - and then you insert some text like

which should produce

Aspire home icon.jpg

Note that you need to enclosed within [[ ]]
then has the name of the file (as you called it when you uploaded it
then has a vertical line (|)
then specifies the size as a number then the letters px (eg 200px)

Hope that helps.

What is Schome? From the point of view of mars.

The Schome NAGTY Project is based in an online community called Second Life. The prject involves 200 Gifted and Talented students from across the UK. Because the students are under 18, the pilot must use Teen Second Life.

The project is run by Open University Staff, wanting to research the ways in which students learn and interact with each other in an online community. Research from the project can be seen from the schome community wiki. (

Students are based in Schome Park. Already the students have swarmed the island, building big things from Sky-Base to mars. Each person helps the other. TBC....
