Good, because I want to have a laugh about this whole camouflage idea!!
I hope I can make it...The uncertainty about dates/place until quite soon doesn't help my planning.

Of course I'll be wearing my suit, so I can blend in to the surroundings like a chameleon...:D

I wasn't meaning SL people tracing IPs as such, but like some evil genius person who may attack my computer!!

you called? :P

Anyway, SL uses a code that effectivly serves as your IP inworld to which only Lidens can access.....HA! had you there! no, its avaible to anyone with the right tools....they dont encode it, simply dont let you have accsess to it....amautars........

Unfortatly, said code is extremely difficut to get ahold of, and i've only encountered two items worth the SL equiulent of Bank Nox that have the capacity to accsess it....both creators have been banned from SL.....

These forums are suprisingly easy to get into as well,

if you have Norten Internet Security, you may (depending on the age of it) be able to view IP's that attacked you

I did - and one thing I'm confused about is why SPii wasn't on it.

The OU supported ther programme but Schome WASN'T mentioned

I didn't watch the program, so I can only speculate, but I'd say that's because Schome is just a group within the OU - run by PeterT, but the OU is a very large university organisation thing, that has lots of these groups. So just because the OU funded it, it doesn't mean that Schome is going to get a mention (which is unfortunate because we should have done), because Schome isn't the OU.

Schome is indeed just a small project within a very big university - though at the moment we probably represent one of the two projects involving Second Life (the other one is run by Siobhan using an island in the Main Grid called CetlMent). So it is disappointing that we didn't get a mention - the team have certainly been making a lot of noise about Second Life around the OU - and continue to do so - and things like Rebecca's poster and Trix's essay entry all help (the OU Festival of Research is on Monday and Tuesday of next week - and we are represented by a poster, an essay and a presentation by yours truly).

Ho hum - fame will come our way one day ...

It was a pretty good prog in many ways.  Another nod to how influential and important virtual worlds are increasingly viewed.  Ok so Schome didn't get a nod this time round.  However with all the work going in to SPii, and if we continue to push ourselves as a community, especially if we have more members coming onto Schome Park in the future, maybe our time in the spotlight isn't so far away  :)
