Kathy, that actually made me laugh. We shouldn't do it as a schome get-together, we should do it as a more friednlier / matey get-together. If you know what I mean. lol

An "Oh, what a surprise!-I never expected to see you here" sort of get together, which is utterly by chance and has no association whatsoever with schome, honest gov. ;)

yup, a group of around 50 schomers just happen to bump into one another in exactly the same location at exactly the same time. Wow!

I'd love to be able to support you in meeting up - however, you know from last time around that any official schome involvement would cause lots of difficulties (risk assessments, parental agreement forms, etc) - and of course the AUP doesn't allow sharing of personal details (as Kathy has so rightly pointed out) ... So be careful what you post in here ... (and remember that this topic is open to the public ...)

PS I believe that all those folk involved in the space project are meeting up in June to work on the project ... (with parents in tow) ...

There is another thread in the Private Area discussing it in more detail. From the last attempt we know it cant be official and therefore prob cant have the staff there, which is a shame (unless you all want to come along too!) and we need to try and get a central location at the most convenient time for everyone.

There is also the Y Factor thing, and if we win then some people may be meeting up in London for that.

Personally, I find it very distasteful that the law requires you to put professional ethics first, instead of your humanity.

But, after past events, I doubt you even would, if you could.

Shame really, I always find I get along better with people without them being detached.

Humanity is an awful lot more subjective than professional ethics, so relying upon it is not a good way to ensure safety, funding etc.
