The Sasquatch wedding
« on: April 14, 2008, 06:05:42 PM »
Our goal is to have a beach side weeding. In order to do this, we will invite our friends to join us near the Hawaiian Shirt for some fun under the sun. In order to keep our wedding traditional, we have arranged on making wedding dresses for us to wear. We are planning on creating a chuppa, used by many Jews during the ceremony. We will say our own vows and after, we will celebrate our marriage with dancing, cake, and refreshments.

Hi Topper, Why would you prefer it to be religion neutral?

Silvermist - I'm afraid I don't know what a Sasquatch wedding is. Are they always Jewish?

Hi Topper, Why would you prefer it to be religion neutral?
a) it may be interpreted the wrong way
b) I would guess that a research project at the OU should not be seen, however unjustly, to favour any religion this could also
c) I am against all religious presence in SP as it can bring about divides
etc etc etc

If you remember for trix and wintermutes wedding we had a ceremony without the religious bits. Thats the best way I think...

I, however, think it's fine and very educational to hold a Jewish wedding.  Full speed ahead, I say! :D

Silvermist and Qwin Schomer are going to get married. In respects to Topper we will make this a religious free wedding. However we are still planning on having a chuppa, not because  it is a religious symbol of our religion but because it is a tradition in many weddings. We hope that you understand and are able to respect our choices we have made. We hope to see you all there.

Everyone is invited. Go to the events page and look for the Sasquatch wedding. Just sign up to attend we would love to have you come.
As far as prior questions are concerned qwin schomer and silvermist are getting married and sasquatch has nothing to do with a jewish, or any other, wedding we just chose the name for fun.
