Baso, we should call them a and b or aplha and beta where people need to know what we are on about, who don't. Other than that I'm sticking with the proper/non proper now? names

I have to say I'm agreeing with faz here SP 1 and 2 is easier to type and i understand which ones which so in conversation i will probably use those but for PP aplications use those names.

SPa should actually be easier to type than SP1 - your left hand doesn't need to move. :P

SPb and SP2 are roughly equal.

I touch type very differently to the more orthodox ways, and hideously wastefully at that, but I find SPa and SPb easier as I don't have to move my fingers up. Besides, surely it is worth any slight difficulty in making it a lot less confusing?

Not really, it's not particularly fascinating when someone thinks about that stuff.

I get the idea that was a 'subtle' hint, Faz, rather than a genuine question...

I know, I choose to reply to subtle hints genuinely sometimes, the effect is both that I can say my opinion, whilst annoying the hinter and making them think at the same time.
