Hi from Gill
« on: September 22, 2006, 04:43:32 PM »
I'm from the Institute of Educational Technology (IET) where I'm studying for a PhD in the uses of mobile devices to support collaborative, informal, science learning. I just participated in the Schome workshop where, despite the pouring rain, we had a really great time. I plan to create a thread entitled Nature Trail in which I shall post the photos taken during the trail and updates on the situation re: the great crested newt pond.

Do get in touch if you have any other ideas for using PDAs in innovative ways to support science learning, and if you've done any follow-up activities as a result of the Nature Trail workshop.

It isn't always raining when I take PDAs out in the field  ;D

Hi Gill,
Now that is a wonderful way to use mobiles. On a field trip! Pity it was raining.
I have a friend who is very much interested in creating different scenarios for using mobile phones. I am sure he will be very interested in your experience. Check out MobilED http://mobiled.uiah.fi/ and do get in contact with Teemu.
