Your music is amazing! Would it be infringing the privacy thing to ask how many in  the band? What instruments are played and how many members have had formal music lessons and to what Grade (if any)? How did you go about writing the melody - was it a jammin session or did someone write and and the rest play. What do you do with your finished music?

I wonder....could people teach other people to put music together in schomepark? Would this come within the remit? My son is taken with Jean Micheal-Jarre at the moment.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Michel_Jarre His music is instrumental but I could easily imagine lyrics being set to it but anyone who could actually sing - not me! Is there voice capability in schomepark?

Now I suspect that this is the type of thing that could be created by clever programming (scripting? - I am trying to learn the jargon!)

As you know I am still waiting for an avatar (which is waiting for my Police check to be checked!), but thus far I am surprised by the lack of music in the forum and wiki. I expected to see more on the user pages for example. Is music played in schome park much? At all?

Thankssss :)
There were 4 but as I'm sure you can tell we recently got a friend on synth
I was on guitar and vocals but we often change about the line up leaving me currently on bass and vocals. In the recording it wasn't me on vocals. Other than bass we have a lead vocalist, guitarist, synth and drums. Both myself, the lead vocalist, the drummer and the synth player have all had formal music lessons leaving the guitarist who has taught himself. Our guitarist writes pretty much all lyrics and he normally has some sort of idea of a melody but normally we write the instrumental parts together sometimes in our dining room and sometimes in our vocalists shed hehehe. Finished music gets performed at gigs and recorded. We're actually recording  a new demo cd the saturday after this one and there'll be somebody coming down to do promotional photos and an interview for a battle of the bands in my county.

I'm not sure if schome is a good way for music because I've attended one session which while was fun, wasn't really about being able to play music. It might be more fun to listen to and discuss different types of music.

lol thanks
the lyrics have nothing to do with anything really
anything that we could think of
when we were doing one thing everyone playing had to say what songs were about
so we said its a song about walking
hehe

What do you think we could include?

What music should we use?

I'd like to help. I have various video clips from around schome park which you could use if you wanted to.
I can send you a link to my band on myspace for songs if you want them but it would probably not be allowed. There are five of us in the band and you wouldn't know which one was me. What do you think?

I cried and cried : :'(
Days spent alone in my room with the curtains closed and the lights off
Reccuring nightmares about Darth Vader eating bacon on the new island

but then...a beacon of hope...

A heavenly voice said to me "use a free symphony from the PC sample music folder"
the result my friends is here:

I'm able to drive objects into the new area of land but when I get near, the object and myself separate so that I'm left in between the two islands unable to move. It is also possible for me to create a block and slide it in in edit mode although I did it my accident. I cannot actually access the island and I didn't mean to annoy anyone. I'm in the process of uploading a video to youtube showing how I did it.

one thing about teh new land, it would seem that we cant go in but our objects can.

why is this?
I'd expect that you wouldn't be able to put objects where you can't go.

One thing we discovered was that only the area below about 100m is restricted (apparently to just Faji and Woop); you can fly above that, though (and, because you get thrown upwards if you fall onto the restricted area, some of us decided to use it as a giant trampoline :P)

Well I managed to ride my Motorpig into the barrier. The Motorpig is still there but I can't get in :(
I've posted a picture here on the wiki : http://schome.open.ac.uk/wikiworks/index.php/User:Dudefish_Schomer#The_Motorpig

It's quite fun actually so there are about 7 pigs there now

perhaps more by the time you read this...

pop in world and look at the valley of the pigs :D

ok I've driven a giant pig in to end my fun. I don't want to be accused of griefing...but it was all in the interest of testing ;)
